How To Go To Zoo Atlanta For Free With A Library Pass
Did you know that you can go to Zoo Atlanta for free with a library pass? Georgia libraries offer entry passes to several different attractions in the state that residents can check out when they become available. I recently went through the process of checking out the zoo pass, so I can answer questions about the experience.
What Is The Zoo Atlanta Library Pass?
The Zoo Atlanta Library pass is a physical pass that you can check out at your local Georgia library to gain free entry (but not free parking). It’s as easy to check out as a book, but it is also a very popular item that might be hard to catch.
How Do I Know If A Library Has A Zoo Pass?
To find out if a library has a zoo pass, you can either call or check to see if it is in their system online. For example, if you live in Cobb County, you can click here, to see if any libraries in the county system have a pass ready to check out. If you live elsewhere, check to see if your county has a similar page by searching “X County Zoo Atlanta Library Pass”
Can I Put A Hold On The Atlanta Zoo Library Pass?
Now that you have found a library with a zoo pass available, you might be wondering about putting it on hold and picking it up later. In my experience, I was told that the pass can be put on hold for 1 hour only. Other libraries may have a different policy. If you want to place it on hold, call the library that currently has an available pass.
When Do I Have To Return The Library Pass?
You can check out the library pass for one week before you must either return or renew for another week. After two weeks, you must return the pass. Therefore, make sure you have a planned date for the zoo before checking out the pass. If you lose the pass, you will have to pay $50 for a replacement.
What Do I Need In Order To Get The Zoo Atlanta Library Pass?
To check out the Zoo Atlanta library pass, you must have a library card. Thankfully, you can get a library card at the same time you get the pass. Therefore, if you do not have a library card already, bring your identification and be prepared to fill out any forms required. Typically, you have to live in the same county or city that the library is in to receive a library card.
What Do I Need To Take To The Zoo To Get In For Free?
To get into the zoo for free, you must bring the pass, a voucher given to you at the library, and your library card. Once you get to the zoo, you will hand each of those to the attendant as if you were entering with a ticket. You can only use the pass for 4 people, so they will likely ask how many are in your group. After, they will hand you back your library card and pass to be returned to the library.
What Is There To Do At The Atlanta Zoo?
Yay, you’ve made it to the zoo! Now you might be wondering what there is to do and see here. They have a lot of great exhibits with your favorite animals such as giraffes, elephants, gorillas, and more. There are also a few kid-friendly attractions like the carousel and the train. Some other activities include watching ethical wildlife shows, training sessions, and feedings. After saving money on tickets, consider spending a few dollars at the gift shop or on some snacks!
Are There Library Passes For Other Attractions?
Yes, there are library passes for other Georgia attractions including the Atlanta History Center, Center For Puppetry And Arts, Georgia State Parks, Alliance Theater, and more. Be sure to check out the full list, and take yourself to a lot of great attractions for FREE! Each of these provides an awesome learning experience whether it is about history, conservation, the arts, or science, so take advantage of a day of free, educational fun!
