How To Spend A Day At The Battery in Atlanta, Georgia

If you are visiting the Battery in Atlanta, Georgia, for the first time, you might be wondering how to spend a day there. Thankfully, the Battery has so much to offer, whether you’re in a shopping mood, attending a baseball game, getting lunch, or having some late-night fun.

Table of Contents:

Where To Park At The Battery

If you’re just visiting for the day, The Battery has multiple parking decks sprinkled throughout the area, and some of them even offer free 3-hour parking as long as there is not a Braves Game going on. These include the Red, Green, Yellow, and Purple Decks.

Omni Hotel

When it comes to staying at the Battery, you have two options, and thankfully, they’re both great. The first option is the Omni Hotel, a 4-star hotel located right outside Truist Park. This hotel offers every accommodation you could possibly need, as well as an elevated pool and rooms with a view of the day’s Braves game. Rooms can range from around $300 to $1000+ a night.

Aloft Hotel

The other option is the Aloft Hotel which is a more affordable 3-star hotel with rooms starting in the $100s per night. The Aloft Hotel has a very trendy vibe and its own bar, WXYZ Bar.

Brunch At The Battery

Goldberg’s Fine Foods

My four favorite words are “Serving Breakfast All Day.” Thankfully, Goldberg’s is fond of those words too. Goldberg’s is the perfect brunch spot with delicious bagels, burgers, and deli sandwiches, as well as an outdoor patio for people-watching.

Shopping At The Battery

The Battery has multiple stores for when you’re ready to shop til your drop. Firstly, you will want to visit the Braves Clubhouse Store, Threads, and Baseballism to make sure you’ve got all the Braves and baseball merch you need before your game. Next, for some cute clothes with Southern charm, visit Dress Up. Then, when you’re ready to buy gifts for your friends back home, visit the South End Trading Company located inside the Omni Hotel. There are, of course, other stores if you’re not ready to be done shopping by the time you are done at these 3, but I think these 3 are the highlight.

Lunch At The Battery

Yard House

Now that you’re done shopping, it’s time to grab a bite to eat. I would recommend Yard House, which is a perfect spot for beer lovers and foodies. They describe their menu as having California roots, so it is no surprise that they provide both gluten-free and vegan options. No matter your dietary preference, you can find something tasty at Yard House.

Ph’east

Another great spot at The Battery is Ph’east, an East Asian food hall with some great noodles, Boba, Poke bowls, fried rice, and Thai food. Take your pick and enjoy a nice cocktail as well.

Dessert At The Battery

To satisfy your sweet tooth, there are several dessert options at The Battery. For starters, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams has around 20 flavors of delicious ice cream to choose from. After getting your cone and discovering your new favorite flavor, you can even purchase a pint to take home. You don’t have to stop your dessert journey there because The Battery is also home to a River Street Sweets, known for their world-famous pralines and other handmade sweets.

Activities At The Battery

Bike Riding At The Battery

Did you know that The Battery has its own walking and biking 1.5-mile trail along the perimeter? If you don’t have your own bike, you can rent one by downloading the Movatic app to your phone. The first hour of riding is even free! There are two bike rental stations at the Battery, one located by the Silver Deck and another by the Orange Deck.

The Escape Game

The Escape Game offers six different escape rooms for you and up to 7-11 other people to take on. If you’re a puzzle lover and are good under pressure, you will love trying to solve these rooms of various difficulties. This is also a great opportunity for team building.

Entertainment At The Battery

Attend A Braves Game At Truist Park

Of course, The Battery is centered around the Braves stadium, Truist Park, so the first form of entertainment I will recommend is attending a Braves game. I am not a huge baseball fan, and even I have a good time. Depending on the game, you can even snag some pretty cheap tickets. Also, be on the lookout for games with giveaways so that you can walk out with a free souvenir like a bobblehead!

Next, for all the music lovers, the Battery has an awesome concert hall, and some of your favorite artists might be stopping by. Coca-Cola Roxy is an iconic venue, and I’d recommend checking out their show schedule to try to catch a performance.

Lastly, you can’t beat catching a movie in a reclining seat at the local movie theater. Yes, The Battery has its own movie theater, Silverspot Cinema. In addition to your movie theater popcorn, you can grab a full meal and even an alcoholic beverage while you watch your movie.

Dinner At The Battery

For dinner, prepare to enjoy some flavorsome pasta, pizza, calzones, and other Italian dishes at Eataliano. This beloved, family-owned restaurant provides a welcoming dining environment as well as an impressive selection of cocktails to sip on. Taking on the day by yourself? Try sitting at one of their communal tables and making some new friends.

For a more entertaining dinner, try Good Game or Battle and Brew. Good Game is excellent for watching the big game and playing virtual sports like golf in their booths. Battle and Brew is the video game lover’s dream restaurant with lots of TVs, consoles, computers, and games to play while you enjoy your food. Both make for a unique and fun dining experience.

Nightlife At The Battery

For some tasty frozen alcoholic drinks, stop by Fat Tuesday before deciding where you are going to end the night. Fat Tuesday is more of a walk-up window rather than a place to hang out, but you should definitely try it out. Not only do you get a beverage, but you get a souvenir cup as well!

If you’re wanting to get your dance on or ride a mechanical bull, PBR (Professional Bull Riders) is the place to be. It is a pretty large bar offering lots of room to dance, sit, hang out, and catch the big game.

If you’re looking for somewhere a bit more relaxed or somewhere to play games, you should definitely visit Punchbowl Social. Punchbowl Social has a unique bar as well as bowling, ping pong, karaoke, billiards, arcade games, and more!

After your day at The Battery, be sure to check out what else the city has to offer, whether it’s the College Football Hall of Fame, The High Museum, the World of Coke, or some of the nearby trails and mountains.

The Battery looks like a fantastic complex for a day out. I love that you get an hour of free cycle hire – I love hiring bikes wherever we travel to. I’d definitely try Fat Tuesdays too – yummy drinks!

I’ve never been to Atlanta, so knew nothing about the Battery. Braves stadium looks spectacular! Although I’m not a baseball fan, but I would be interesting to see the Braves game. Thanks for sharing!

There certainly seems to be something for everyone at The Battery! Being from the UK and never having been to a baseball game, I would love to do this. Ride a mechanical bull?? Mmm. Perhaps not for me – though I would love to watch!
