Tips For Attending Promotion Nights At Atlanta Braves Games

Over the past few years, my boyfriend and I have been frequently attending promotion nights at Braves games to get the coolest bobbleheads and other unique memorabilia. Going to these games can feel a bit more intense than other games, especially if it’s a popular giveaway night. You do not want to find yourself underprepared and walking away empty-handed, so I have put together a list of tips to make for a successful giveaway night at Truist Park.

Tip #1: Check The Promotions Schedule

For information on what giveaway nights are when, check the Braves Promotions Schedule. Here you can also find out how many of an item is being handed out, if it is for kids only, if it requires a special ticket, and who they are playing. It also provides a direct link to easily buy tickets once you’ve made your decision. More promotional items continue to be announced throughout the season, so don’t just forget about the schedule after checking it at the start of the season.

Tip #2: Atlanta Braves Coca-Cola Wednesdays

Something many people do not know about is the Coca-Cola Wednesdays at Truist Park. On Wednesday gamedays, fans can purchase a $20 ticket in the Coke Corner and receive a free Coke product. Concessions can be expensive, so a game ticket plus a free drink is honestly a great deal, especially on giveaway nights where tickets can be a little more pricy.

Tip #3: Get There Early

There are a lot of things to consider when planning what time you should get there on a promotions night. How popular is the item being handed out? What is the quantity of the giveaway? Are the Braves doing well and receiving high attendance at the games? On a popular giveaway night during a winning Braves season, people can start lining up pretty early, and the opposite is true during a disappointing season. You can easily spend a day at The Battery, so if possible, consider getting there early for a daycation and not worry about missing out on your bobblehead.

Tip #4: Park In The Deck And Get Validated

Parking in a deck at The Battery can be expensive, but if you already plan on spending money eating or shopping at The Battery, you can get your parking ticket validated. As long as you park within 4 hours of the beginning of the game and spend a total of $50 at shops and restaurants, your parking will be totally free. Just ask a server or retail worker about validating your ticket. Leaving with some quality baseball merch and not having to endure a long walk to the stadium is a pretty good deal for $50 in my opinion.

Tip #5: Know When The Gates Open At Truist Park

Gates typically open 2 hours before the game begins. However, on really popular giveaway nights, the gates might open even earlier. The time is subject to change, so keep an eye out on any news of early or late openings.

Tip #6: Go to Less Frequented Gates

Gates such as the Chop House Gate and the 3rd Base Gate can pull a crowd pretty quickly due to how conveniently they are located to popular parking spots. If you walk up to one of those gates and are met with long lines, consider sending someone from your group around the park to see if other gates such as the 1st Base Gate have a shorter line. Sometimes the more frequented gates can have a higher amount of giveaway inventory, so if you are met with long lines everywhere, stick with a gate like the Chop House Gate.

Tip #7: Braves Game Exit and Re-Entry

Now that you’ve gotten to the game hours early, you might not want to just sit in the stadium waiting for the game to start. If your car is close, you might even want to walk your new merch back to safety rather than having to carry it around all night. To exit the stadium and gain re-entry, you need to leave through Terrapin Taproom. After all promotional items have been handed out, Terrapin will start allowing people in to have a drink at the bar or get a table. Once you walk through, they will scan your ticket, allowing it to be scanned again for re-entry. Of course, if you choose to leave through Terrapin, consider purchasing a beer or eating some tasty barbecue before going back in.

Tip #8: Consider Booking A Hotel At The Battery

To avoid the hassle of parking and the stress of not knowing what time to arrive, consider booking a hotel at The Battery. Two great options are the Omni Hotel and Aloft. The Omni Hotel is the more expensive option of the two but offers amazing views of the park meaning you can easily spy on the lines forming at the gates.

Attending different sports events is always a fun outing. If we get to Atlanta, these tips would hope us attending Promotion Nights for the Atlanta Braves. Good to remind people about getting there early for the giveaways! And good to know you can re-enter the stadium because this was not true recently when we took in a Green Bay Packers game.

Those lines are crazy!!! People love a giveaway! Great advice, though… We do check the promotional schedule whenever we’re going to an athletic event- who doesn;t love free stuff? And finding the lesser known entrance gates is the way to do it!
