What To Expect From Gimme Gimme Disco
Have you been influenced by the Instagram ads for Gimme Gimme Disco but aren’t sure what to expect from it? Then you’re probably in the same boat as most people before they actually attend. If this disco party is coming to a city near you (and you’re considering going but wish you were a little more prepared), I am happy to tell you that I went to Gimme Gimme Disco in Atlanta and have written a guide for you!
What Is Gimme Gimme Disco?
Maybe by reading this blog post, you’re hearing about Gimme Gimme Disco for the first time and you’re feeling a little intrigued and wondering what it is.
In short, Gimme Gimme Disco is a traveling DJ Disco Party taking inspiration from the famous 70s group, ABBA. It’s a night for all the dancing queens, kings, and everyone in between.
How Much Do Gimme Gimme Disco Tickets Cost?
When it comes to purchasing Gimme Gimme Disco tickets, the earlier you do it, the better. Soon after a date is announced, tickets will be at their cheapest, typically costing around $12. After a while, prices will continue to increase, and tickets will cost around $15. As the event date approaches, tickets will keep going up and usually top off at around $20 on the day of the disco.
What Time Does Gimme Gimme Disco Start?
For my show, the event start time on the website said 9 pm, but that was actually when the doors opened. My friends and I arrived at around 9:50 pm, and the actual disco started shortly after 10 pm. I would assume this applies to each show but I cannot say for sure. It might be worth calling your venue to find out!
How Long Does Gimme Gimme Disco Last?
Gimme Gimme Disco lasts several hours. We left around 1 am, and the party seemed to still be going strong. I would guess it ended around 1:30-2 am, meaning it lasts around 3-4 hours. Therefore, if you show up late, you should still have plenty of time to get your boogie on.
What Music Do They Play At Gimme Gimme Disco?
Despite the ABBA-influenced name, Gimme Gimme Disco does not just play ABBA songs. For the most part, they play other popular 70s music with a few other more recent songs playing every now and then. I know some people had expectations of the night being completely ABBA-filled, but that was not the case. As much as I love ABBA, I was happy to hear other familiar and fun 70s music playing all night.
What Do People Wear To Gimme Gimme Disco?
While it is not required, disco/70s attire is definitely encouraged. My friends and I dressed in 70s inspired outfits, and most of the other attendees did their part as well. You will most likely see lots of shiny clothes, bellbottoms, boas, and Saturday Night Fever-esque suits. However, if you would feel more comfortable wearing your typical night out clothes or even a t-shirt and sweatpants, you definitely can! Plenty of people didn’t dress to the theme, and it’s all about what makes you the most comfortable.

Honest Review: Is Gimme Gimme Disco Worth It?
In my opinion, I think Gimme Gimme Disco is worth the ticket price, especially if you buy the tickets before they reach their maximum price. I personally love ABBA and other disco music, though, so my opinion is pretty biased. However, I feel like unless you’re living under a rock, you’ll hear plenty of songs you know and love. I think that disco music is some of the most perfect music to dance and have fun to, so it proved to be a great outing for my friends and me. I would highly recommend giving this disco party a shot!
