Georgia’s Little Grand Canyon – Providence Canyon
Did you know that Georgia has its own little Grand Canyon called Providence Canyon? It’s true, but don’t let the term “little” fool you. Providence Canyon covers over 1100 acres, and its natural beauty is unmeasurable, making it one of Georgia’s best and most unique hikes. How Was Providence Canyon Formed? Providence Canyon is actually the result of poor farming practices in the late 1800s when farmers cut down too many trees to make for more farmable land. The lack of trees made the land more vulnerable to soil erosion, so any small ravines already there continued to get deeper and deeper with each instance of heavy rainfall. Where Is…

The Perfect Happy Hiking Playlist
Most anything becomes a lot more enjoyable when you have the perfect playlist to listen to in the background. That’s why I have created playlists for almost every mood I could possibly be in. When it comes to hiking, I think it’s best to have an overall happy playlist, something that makes you feel grateful to be out in nature and that puts a little pep in your step. A hiking playlist is especially useful if you are someone who hikes alone. Hopefully, this playlist consists of the perfect mix of songs you already know and love, as well as songs that you will come to know and love. You…

Catawba Falls, North Carolina: A Super Easy & Fun Hike
North Carolina offers some of the best hikes in the country, and I had the pleasure to take on one of them this past weekend. Catawba Falls is the perfect hike if you’re near Asheville and are looking for a quick adventure out in nature. Length: 3 Miles Round Trip Difficulty: Easy As someone who does a lot of hikes but still lacks in the endurance department, I consider Catawba Falls to be a pretty easy hike. There are a few short moments of a more intense incline, but for the most part, the path is fairly steady. However, there are a few instances that require you to cross some…

Noccalula Falls: One of Alabama’s Best Waterfalls
If you know me, then you know that despite TLC’s desperate pleas, I go chasing waterfalls. That’s why Noccalula Falls, located in Gadsden, Alabama became one of my most anticipated destinations after I discovered it online. The waterfall stands an impressive 90 ft tall and roars loudly for all who visit it. It provides truly picturesque views, and my favorite part is that you have access to walk behind the waterfall if you choose to do so. Noccalula Falls History Noccalula Falls is named after Princess Noccalula. Legend has it that a Native American Chief’s daughter, Noccalula, was loved greatly by her community for her beauty and kind heart. Therefore,…

Brasstown Bald: Hiking Up Georgia’s Highest Peak
Brasstown Bald has been sitting on my list of must-do hikes for months now, and I figured it was finally time to be able to cross it off. I knew that with it being the highest peak in Georgia, the view would not disappoint, which is why it would be worth the 2-hour drive to get there from Kennesaw. I also decided I wanted to be able to watch the sunset from the mountain, so we left Kennesaw at around 5 pm in order to be at the top before the sun setting at 7:45 pm. The Brasstown Bald Hike: When you first discover that the hike is only 0.6…

How Not To Hike Stone Mountain
Stone Mountain located in Atlanta, Georgia is a famous mountain with a great view (if you can make it to the top). I had always heard it was especially beautiful if you could wake up early enough to reach the peak by sunrise. After hearing about it, I really wanted to try it out. After all, I sure do love my Georgia hikes. However, I am the complete opposite of a morning person, and it was also difficult to find someone who would agree to do such an early hike on a random day. Therefore, it took me a very long time to finally make the journey. Then I had…
